Hello to all from Sachi and Ambi's daughter (and favorite child!!) and son-in-law. We have been enjoying mom and baba's blog as much as everyone else. I never thought I'd see the day when they would be on-line and checking emails so often, much less able to even turn the computer on. We call from Omaha almost every day, but it has been really fun reading their blog entries. Of course nothing beats being home and seeing everyone in person. Our dog Wailea, would also agree, mom's kebab's and chicken korma are her favorite.
When all of us are home together, the house is usually filled with laughter, and in that respect, nothing much has changed. Most often you will find all of us squeezed together on the family room couches either watching a movie or complaining about all the news that mom wants to watch.
Next weekend mom and baba will leave for Rochester, and all of a sudden I feel like I did when I was little, grabbing onto his leg begging him not to go to the hospital. We will miss them so much, and every time we think of baba in pain our heart breaks a little. But he is the strongest person we know and it is impossible for his spirit and positive attitude not to rub off on us. We are already making plans for the summer and can't wait to have baba back home. When they arrived back in Lincoln on Friday, baba said 'back to "the good life" ', the Nebraska state motto. For all of us, the good life is having mom and baba back home. :)

Sachi and Ambi,
It is great to have a blog to keep in touch with you. Things sound positive. Yesterday morning Jack had many inquiries at the Men's meeting as to Sachi's progress. And Jack told them all: "Sachi is stuffing himself with ice cream, fried chicken and all the things that the rest of us wish we could eat."
Sachi, you mentioned a week ago Saturday that we might have dinner before you return to Mayo's. Give us a call. We would be thrilled to have dinner with you and Ambi. We predict the most gifted physician that either of us has ever known will soon be well and all of his gifts in tact.
We love you both

The Lion roars!
There is almost a palpable feeling that you guys exude in these latest pictures. There is a glint in every eye, a smile on every pair of lips and a tremendous amount of strength behind the soft exterior, invisible but vibrant. And the Lion looks as strong and protective as ever, looking over his dearest little cubs! Working behind the scene (in this case, behind the lens) the mother is evidently trying to capture and freeze the mood forever !
Looking down from the heavens, even God himself cannot help showering His blessings on this family to brave the ensuing onslaughts of ill health and steer the Lion out of the woods in great shape.
As you prepare to march ahead with the upcoming treatment, your family and friends all over the world shall be praying for your good health and complete recovery. It may be a bed of thorns to start with but eventually we shall invoke His grace to convert it to a tender sheet of roses, slowly but surely. Forge ahead dear one, may God be with you....

Sachi, Ambi and family. Wow, this is wonderful and very moving, needless to say my eyes were not dry reading the entries and comments. I have had Ally send out an email about the site so hopefully you will soon be hearing from NHI friends. You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. I miss you Sachi. Your friend, Janelle
Dear Sachi-
I was very pleased to receive Ally's Email about your webpage. I have so very many nurses at NHH asking about how you are doing. You are indeed loved.
I am in your favorite place.....medical records! Doing my dictation thing and thinking of you.
My prayers for you today are that you will remain open to God's healing energy for both your physical and spiritual bruises. Unexpected challenges in life are difficult but are managed with the help of God one day at at time.
My prayers are with you today.
Your friend,
Janet Huenink
Dr. Mahapatra, be sure that you absence is felt everyday at NHI/NHH...EVERYONE misses you, even the furniture...your presence at 'work' is always welcome even if you just want to stop and say "HI" @ 5pm on a Friday afternoon. I might be the only one here. :) Well wishes only...

Sachi and Ambi,
I am one of the nurses that works with Jyoti and I met you both at her Christmas Brunch. I made the goodies for her. I told Jyoti I would make you a batchof lemon bars sometime during this ordeal!
I think of you both and pray for you both often. You are blessed to have a daughter like Jyoti and she is blessed to have parents like you! Best wishes during your next few weeks.
