Home. A place to welcome Family.

Last week's visit of Anita (Sachi's cousin) and family was a long awaited event. We remember her when she was her daughter's age. Her parents were our hosts when we first came to USA in 1977. They helped ease our transition from India to our new home in America. We remember those days fondly. Anita was quite a handful at that time. Too smart for her five years and a bundle of energy. She still has the same 'zing' to her personality and energy to keep up with her girls. We love you Mama. Sachi loved practising the role of a grandparent with Anisha and Anjali.

The kids truly won our hearts. They even mellowed down the cool dudes in our home. With smooth innocence and effortless guile they led Suraj and Ravi through hoops. The house is quiet without them. It was a pleasure visiting with Shyam. His sense of humor at being the odd man out in the family is endearing. His passion and achievements at work are impressive. He is a young & fast upcoming scientist at Johns Hopkins. Come again Shyam and family.

Sachi is handling the summer visitors quite well. There are a few times he looks exhausted but he recovers fine. This is good practice for being up and active at work. He has been trying to get off the peg tube feeds but it is proving difficult. He is taking ensure (a nutritional supplement) by mouth and also trying to take a little bit of food. Some days are good, other days it does not go OK. It is still quite early. So nothing to worry. He has lost 4-5 lbs. If this keeps up he will have to go back to the peg tube for some nutrition. His stamina is improving bit by bit. We have still not started our movie outings though. Today while Sachi took a nap, Ravi invited me to go see a movie with him. I guess he noticed me eyeing the movie page in the newspaper. Sachi better start the Friday night family outings soon or I might take Ravi up on this offer.

Suraj and Ravi are both working this summer. There is plenty of time to sleep late and wake up at noon though. We love their presence at home even though we get to see them only when they are hungry. Jyoti and Jeff made a quick trip to Chicago for a friend's wedding. They squeezed in a dinner with Naren and Vivek and seemed to have had a very good time. They are back now and we will see them on July fourth.

This is our 31st year in America. Everyone in USA have a wonderful Independence Day. All of our families in India, Thialand and Australia, You are invited to the Celebrations. Lots of love from all of us...........Ambi.

Nuabou, your style of spicing content with humor has, over the past several months, been recording a trend of rare quality that is indeed enviable while being inimitable!
Words.... just by juggling a few alphabets one way or another, how intense an impact we can create....
A power unleashed by apparently harmless words hold within their armour the capacity to excite or depress, soothe or lacerate, originate or annihilate.... Wars have been fought and lives have been lost just as a result of a few mindless words of arrogance, while hearts have been won and kingdoms have been acquired by the tender silk of compassion expressed through carefully selected words......
But sometimes, when we are crushed under the weight of personal tragedy or loss, expression through this medium becomes an exercise in futility. Words lose their potency, and, like crippled invalids, stand exposed to arrows of fractured sentiments that pierce into the soft interiors of our heart without mercy or forbearance.... The same is true when we experience the ecstatic euphoria of a touching act of love or sacrifice....Emotions transcend words, transporting us into a another world where the necessity of expression is dispensed with and in its place takes birth a feeling so potent that the entire experience is lived and felt in one flow of silent spontaneity....
The pictures posted this time are ebullient in spirit as they are vibrant in expression. When the shape of things to come pays you a timely visit, it is time to celebrate in preparation for the little bundle of joy that is growing fast in its small little world now. Sanabhai's face has acquired a childlike radiance of joy that can only acquired by the infectious presence of children all around! Keep up the looks, perk up the spirits, and pump up the muscles....for, very soon both of you shall find yourselves taking care of the new arrival(s) with a zeal that would relegate your past and present to the pages of history, only to be reminisced as an episode that tested your grit to the outer limits of endurance. Therefore, speed up your recovery process, dear one.....Life is ever renewing itself in ever so many ways and twinkling in ever so many colors.....Go ahead and lose yourselves in the beautiful flow of life....
Love and pranams.

Dearest Sanabhai and Nuabou,

Pranam. It seems you are having an enjoyable and hectic time with visiting families. After those turbulent months-happy times have come-Good to know that both of you are relaxed and happy.Mamma & Shyam-both are very nice and happy person and along with Anisha & Anjali they make a cute family. We also enjoyed their brief stay with us last year.

Nuabou-the pictures are really nice and everybody looks so good,Sanabhai is looking bright and relaxed-but where are you? We hardly see you in any of the pictures. You should sometimes give Sanabhai the opportunity to click pictures so that you can come in the picture.Next time, please try and do that.

Sanabhai loosing weight is temporary-I hope it will improve with corrective steps-even if it is going back to the peg tube it does not matter.Everything is God's will.If he wants to give more rest to your mouth-let it be but you should try to remain strong and energetic by taking all the meals.

We are doing fine-Leema is here-We are happy to have her with us after almost 15months-Life takes a different turn and seems more meaningful when children stay with you.Now food,outings-all are according to her taste. She also seems relaxed-although she is missing Achintya a lot.Achintya is now settling down in a hotel in Indianapolis and will start work from tomorrow.

Hi-Ravi and Suraj! How are you both doing? Enjoying your summer holidays with Mom and Dad.Wish you all the best for your work-Happy eating and Happy sleeping! As Jejebaba used to say to Babi Dada "Happy the man"-both of you are now just that.

God bless you all!

Love and regards,
Nandini & Swarup.

I LOVED the picture of Suraj with the two little girls hanging on him!!! I can't wait to see him and Ravi with their new little niece following them around and pestering them, it will be such fun!

I am glad to hear that Sachi continues to gain strength and stamina as the summer progresses. I too hope the need for the peg become less and less. I hope your summer continues to go well.
Take Care!

Sanabhai, on the eve of your independence day, you had visited us! On the stage was a Holy Man of world repute from Hrishikesh, India, delivering a discourse on India's Spiritual heritage. As part of the swelling audience, I sat at the edge of my seat devouring the droplets of wisdom in rapt attention. Among the many enlightening lessons imparted, one that infused sheer magic to the atmosphere and resulted in a fusion of faces, your's into his', was the tireless question that every unfortunate Soul asks of God whenever burdened with pain and suffering, imploring Him to reverse the irreversible: “Why Me?” In response to this age old query, he narrated the conversation between Kunti and Krishna after the epic battle of Mahabharat was over. When Kunti was offered a boon of her choice by the Lord, she paused not more than a fleeting moment before naming her desire: O' Lord, give me pain. For only then will you be ever close to me. People ask 'Why Me' but I say: Try me. I'm all yours'..........
The impact of this small story may not have been felt as deeply by the audience as it was by me. In one miraculous instant thousands of miles dissolved and I saw my Tarzan mingling into the Guru in saffron, sitting right in front of me in all his glory and strength, intoning the beautiful words: 'Thy Will be done'....
Through a film of moistness in my eyes I strained to separate the Guru from my Tarzan, but my efforts were to no avail. The fusion had already taken place.... The transformation had been complete....Though I knew my eyes were playing tricks on my mind, my heart knew better.....You don't have to board a plane to traverse the distance between countries. A single thought of warmth and love transports you across the globe bridging the small distance between hearts and bringing about a meeting of minds and cementing of relations.....
I returned home that evening with a feeling of euphoria and a nostalgic longing for those marvelous moments spent in your company not so long ago......
Love and pranams.

Dear Ambi and Sachi,

For some reasons I could not see your new post "Home - A place to welcome family" earlier. We are glad to know that you have had pleasant company of honoured guests. Sachi's on course recovery is also a matter of great relief. A further joyful treat is family photographs so thoughtfully placed by you.
I would have loved to respond to your invitation to 'Independence day celebrations' It is the greatest day in the life of a nation. Your country displayed great valour and glory to win it and your people have every right to celebrate it with gusto. I had the fortune to watch Newyork celebrations on internet. On one of my visits I had seen a live performance in Lincoln also. All praise to George Washington and his associates.
Independence days are considered unrivalled. But in the life of your nation there is another profound event to match it - Nay, in my opinion, to surpass it. It is Abraham Lincoln's brave decision, to risk and win a civil war, to keep the country united and to abolish slavery. All the greatness that visits your country, at the moment, springs from that single decision. How I wish we had just one Lincoln in place of all the Nehrus, Gandhis and other stalwarts, with guts, to fight for the integrity of our country.

Love Daddy.
